During the bilateral inauguration ceremony of localization of catalyst and direct iron recovery process, the memorial stamp of the event in the field of “Made in Iran” will be unveiled.

Mahmoud Rezaei, deputy of knowledge-based Sarv Oil and Gas Co. stated on the press conference of the third bilateral conference of localization of catalyst and direct iron recovery process: the stamp of “Made in Iran” will be unveiled during the inauguration ceremony of the conference.

He continued: the third round of the event will be held January 16th-19th 2019 in Kish Island, which evaluates the development of the steel industry with a national and technological look, the support of modern knowledge with the goal of mass production, the localization of the supply chain in the path of a resilient economy and the self-sufficiency of the production of the steel industry catalyst, based on Iranian knowledge.

Trusting the Domestic Producer is a Step towards the Path of Development and Self-reliance

Moreover, Mohammad Amin Ebrahimi, the executive secretary of the event, expressed about the importance of holding this conference, affirming: the concept of localization of catalysts in the country has faced many challenges, including lack of trusting the domestic producers. Over the past few years, a condition have been provided in line with the support of Iranian products in order to eliminate this challenge.

Gathering for Localization of Pieces and Products “Made in Iran”

Ebrahimi also asserted: we have aimed to create a friendly environment in the conference for experts of steel and industry catalyst so that in addition to maximization of interaction between these people and creating a mutual language, we would be able to make the necessary synergy in the localization of steel industry.

Unveiling a Stamp to Support Products “Made in Iran”

According to Ebrahimi, the memorial stamp of the event in the field of support of Iranian products will be unveiled during the opening ceremony. In addition, the new generation of catalysts knowledge-based Sarv Oil and Gas Co., which have a higher value added, new shape and form, will be unveiled.

During the meeting, Rezaei provided explanations about the activity of the mentioned companies, declaring: the acquisition of technical knowledge of the catalysts of the oil, gas, petrochemical and steel industries should be considered as the most important activity of this knowledge-based company. The production of catalysts in the last decade was one of the main challenges of the steel industry, but with the efforts of researchers today, this challenge has become an opportunity and a strong point for the country.

Achieving the Technical Knowledge of “High-tech” Products

Ebrahimi also mentioned: achieving production of 55 million tons of crude steel in the country is projected at 1404 horizons, and there are also various plans to increase capacity and growth in this area. In order to achieve this perspective, paying attention to the role of the supply chain is important, and among these, "single products" are far more influential. Now, despite sanctions against the country, we need to localize "high-tech" goods, one of the most important of which is catalysts.

Localization of the Heart of Chemical Processes

Expressing that 100 types of catalyst are applicable in the industry of oil, petrochemical, metal and refinement, which are considered the heart of chemical processes, he continued: this is mainly because the catalyst of metal, petrochemical and refinery complexes are not able to be active. The Sarv Company has produced about 30 types of catalysts by the efforts of localization and industrial production experts. Since many foreign companies do not provide catalyst to us, this act led to the elimination of need for import of this product.

Fulfilling the 85% Country's Need for Sponge Iron with Iranian Products

Ebrahimi pointed out that today, the market share of catalysts used in the steel industry is 70% and about 40% of sponge iron is produced by the catalysts of this knowledge-based company. Since Iran is one of the largest steel producers in the world by direct iron recovery, it is expected that about 85% of the sponge iron of the country will be produced with the catalysts of this knowledge-based company until 2020.
